      <image:title>Individual Counseling - compassion and empathy</image:title>
<image:caption>We long to be known, accepted and loved, and when our experiences have been of rejection and judgment, we begin to expect more rejection and more judgment. When we receive the compassion and empathy that we needed, we are changed, little by little, receiving the safety and connection we have longed for.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Individual Counseling - Mind and body</image:title>
<image:caption>Our stories of harm reside in our bodies, and reconnecting with our physical bodies is an essential part of processing trauma. Mindfulness practices that include connecting with the breath and sensations in our bodies help us do this. If we do not feel safe in our bodies, we often cannot cognitively process all that is going on inside us.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Couples Counseling - patterns of conflict</image:title>
<image:caption>When there are reoccurring conflicts in a relationship, there is often a pattern that develops that gets repeated over and over. In couples counseling, we will explore that pattern, slow things down and look for the desire for connection that is underneath. This leads to interactions where each individual in the couple can walk away feeling seen and heard by the other.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Couples Counseling - enneagram</image:title>
<image:caption>The enneagram can be an incredibly helpful tool for couples because of the deeper understanding of themselves and others that comes from engaging with the enneagram. When we are able to have empathy and deep understanding of ourselves, we are also more able to have empathy for our partners. Understanding our own patterns and the patterns of our partners allows for tremendous personal growth and care for one another.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Hi, I’m Sara.</image:title>
<image:caption>I have always been drawn to walking closely with others through difficulty, and know that it is what I am called to and created for. I long to create spaces where others feel safe, loved, accepted, and deeply cared about. I am deeply committed to my own personal growth and am consistently engaging my own stories of harm and trauma in various ways. I have experienced both good and bad therapy and know how incredibly important the therapeutic relationship is first-hand. My personal exposure to good therapy has been an important part of my path to this profession.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - My family is incredibly important to me! My husband, Blake, and I met in college and have been married for 26 years. I homeschooled my four children for ten years before I went back to school to get my masters in counseling.</image:title>
<image:caption>When I am not in the counseling office, you will find me hanging out with one or more of these five. I love reading, kayaking, learning, baking, doing anything creative, and solitude.</image:caption>
